Local influencer Raphael Pace has is looking for love – and he has decided to post his tinder profile on various billboards around Malta and Gozo.

Raphael earlier posted a video, mourning how dating apps just aren’t for him. He ended the video by asking Siri to ‘call a billboard company’. 

The content creator has found the perfect way to boost his romantic reach and maybe find that special someone. 

Unfortunately, they’d have to scale some buildings if they want to swipe right.

Announcing the Finalists: 64th Edition of Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali Unveiled

The tension-filled moments of anticipation gave way to expressions of relief, joy, and gratitude among numerous local sports athletes as the 64th edition finalists of the prestigious Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali were unveiled on Tuesday afternoon.

A total of 36 individuals have secured their spots for the final night, slated for Saturday, March 2nd. The announcement took place at the main hall of the Institute for Physical Education and Sports at the University of Malta, where all semi-finalists were also honored with commemorative certificates.

The live-streamed ceremony featured addresses from Mr. Matthew Vella, the Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Education, Sport, Youths, Research, and Innovation, alongside Sandro Micallef and Lorraine Cunningham, President, and General Secretary respectively of the Malta Sports Journalists Association (MSJA).

Scheduled to be broadcast live on TVMSport+ and the association’s social media platforms, the 64th edition of Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali promises to be a thrilling event.

The Malta Sports Journalists express their gratitude to the event’s partners for their unwavering support, including the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research, and Innovation, National Lottery, Atlas Insurance, Bank of Valletta, Enemed, Responsible Gaming Foundation, VisitMalta, and the French Embassy in Malta.

10 Kilos Of Cannabis Confiscated In Drug Bust

A 40 year old Romanian man was arrested with the alleged importation of cannabis. 

Police collected information related to a person’s involvement in drug importation and, on Wednesday, the authorities stopped the man whilst he was in his vehicle in Swieqi. 

The information yielded fruit as a search in the vehicle resulted in the finding of 10 kilograms of a substance suspected to be cannabis, separated in various packets ready for trafficking. Customs officers assisted in the drug bust. 

An inquiry has been opened as the man is being held in the Police general headquarters of Furjana. He is expected to be arraigned in court today at around 1100hrs. 

Police investigations are ongoing.

Over Half Of Maltese Prefer News In Maltese But English Web Portals

In a new survey by Vincent Marmara on the State of the Maltese language and commissioned by the ‘Ċentru tal-Ilsien Malti’ headed by Norma Saliba, it was found that, out of 600 interviewed persons, 57.7% generally prefer to read their online news in Maltese. 

However, when it comes to web portals, 39.9% prefer to read online web portals in the English language, with 33.9% preferring Maltese. 

In terms of online news, 22.1% prefer to read in English. When it comes to other languages, 0.1% prefer online news in other languages whereas 0.4% prefer web portals in both languages. 

The overall majority of those who prefer web portals in Maltese are those aged 66 and over, whereas the majority of those who prefer English for online web portals are aged 16 to 25. 

Only 9% of those aged 16 to 25 prefer Maltese for online web portals, with 0% preferring other languages. 31.5% of this age group generally read in both languages. 

Women tend to prefer English for web portals more than men, with 44.1% of women preferring English when contrasted to 35.6% of men.
