Sep 4 2021 Share

Trusted Facebook page ‘The Weather Page Malta’ has published a forecast for next week’s weather and many will be surprised with the expected situation.

Following weeks of scorching summer sun, the popular Facebook page has reported the possibility of a storm across Malta and Gozo next week.

The storm is forecasted to take place at mid-week due to lower pressure extending towards the centre of the Mediterranean and will mark the first significant change in weather since the beginning of summer.

Are you looking forward to stormy weather?

Following their earth-shaking purchase of the Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United are facing a shortage of replica shirts due to a surge in demand after Ronaldo’s arrival.

Manchester United kit suppliers Adidas are reportedly dealing with considerable delays in production due to factory closures in Vietnam, one of the main sources of kit production.

School protocols could change from last year

School protocols could change from last year

The Malta Union of Teachers announced that the protocols agreed between the Ministry for Education and the health authorities have been finalised. The union announced that these will be the official protocol documents upon which all practical aspects of implementation will be decided upon.

The MUT revealed that, during the next week, it will be meeting the Ministry for Education in order to go through its implementation. This will take into consideration the fact that some aspects may have changed given the pandemic’s most recent impacts. The union stated that it is also expecting to meet concurrently with the Secretariat for Catholic Education and the representatives for independent schools.

The MUT ‘hopes that the reopening plan following discussion is issued at the earliest so that educators can have enough notice to plan and set up in time for the new scholastic year.’ Members are to be updated accordingly.

Malta’s very own Iron Man Fabio Spiteri will be hitting the road again to raise much needed funds and more awareness on animal sanctuaries and shelters across the Maltese islands. This will not be the first time the ultra-triathlete has cycled around the neighbouring island for charity. Currently holding the national record of double and triple ironman, Fabio will be embarking on this feat in under 48 hours without any sleep or scheduled stops.

He will be going for a full 1,000 kilometre distance on his bicycle, with the only other person who has ever broken this record being Italian cyclist Maurizio Mezzasalma, who will also be be joining Fabio as part of his crew. Fabio is well known for his endurance racing and ultra-events, being a very passionate and vocal ambassador for abandoned animals. While a number of organisations are providing sponsorship and support, including GasanMamo Insurance as the main sponsor, Fabio and the animals he is fighting for need more help in raising the 50K needed.
