Qui-Si-Sana drainage spill still not addressed Sliema Mayor laments

Sliema Mayor John Pillow has come out with a video lamenting the lack of authoritative action regarding the drainage issue which is infesting Qui-Si-Sana beach.

In a social media video, Pillow explains the situation as he walks alongside the affected beach. He highlights the foul smell which is filling the area.

He also critiqued the fact that the relevant authorities are all pointing fingers at each other, saying that the Environmental Health Directorate and the Water Services Corporation are all blaming each other and waiting on the other to fix the situation.

John Cena breaks record with over 650 ‘Make a Wish’ wishes fulfilled

Actor and WWE star John Cena has just broken an incredibly touching milestone this week after it was revealed that he broke the Make-A-Wish record for wishes granted.

The star has granted more than 650 wishes for the foundation, which helps fulfil the wishes of kids with critical illnesses between the ages of two-and-a-half and 18.

The accomplishment was announced by the WWE’s official social media on the 19th of June as they celebrated Cena Month on their platforms. The wrestling legend was pictured hugging a fan tearing up with joy for the special occasion.

When compared to other WWE stars, legends Hulk Hogan and NASCAR’s Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jeff Gordon granted more than 200 wishes. But no one, apart from Cena, ever made it past the 300 mark.

Many commended Cena for his dedication to grant these kids’ wishes, praising him as a respectable and loving human being and an outright GOAT well beyond the ring and the movie set.

46-year-old man suffers grievous injuries after argument with two men

Police were informed yesterday at around 2230hrs by the health authorities that a 46-year-old man resident of Ghasri had to be taken to Gozo General Hospital due to grievous injuries.

The man suffered the injuries after he was allegedly involved in an altercation with two other men. The incident had occurred earlier during the day at around 1130hrs in Triq l-Ghammar, l-Ghasri.

The two other men, aged 25 and 56, were also residents of Ghasri and were arrested during the night. They were taken for medical attention at the hospital and were certified to have suffered light injuries.

Investigations are still ongoing and an inquiry has been opened.
