The third edition of the Public Service Expo Village officially opened at MFCC, Ta’ Qali, under the theme ‘Youth, their Future in the Public Service’.
Running until 25 May, the event brings together all Ministries and public entities for a vibrant celebration of innovation, engagement, and community service.
The Expo highlights the Public Service’s continued evolution as a dynamic, people-centred institution, with activities ranging from live demonstrations and podcasts to sports simulations, on-site services, and interactive discussions.
In his opening speech, Prime Minister Robert Abela hailed the Public Service as a crucial driver of reform and national progress.
He praised the commitment of public officers under the leadership of Principal Permanent Secretary Tony Sultana and acknowledged recent achievements, including the historic collective agreement that improved working conditions for 33,000 civil servants.
Abela reaffirmed that young people are central to the Government’s strategy, urging them to view public service as a space of opportunity and impact.
Tony Sultana highlighted Malta’s leadership in digital governance, with investment in technology exceeding €1 billion. He said that innovation, particularly in AI, is reshaping the way we work, creating new possibilities for excellence, efficiency, and forward-looking public administration.
