The Times of Malta spoke to three different clinics who are performing rapid COVID-19 tests, and they all said that they are not required to report their results to the Maltese Health Authorities.
The clinics and doctors performing these tests tell their patients to call 111 themselves if they are positive for COVID-19 and of course, they also tell them to remain in quarantine.
A Health Ministry spokesperson said that patients doing private rapid tests should be guided to get the PCR test as well, and that is where the results from private clinics would be absorbed into the official figures published daily.
