Prime Minister Robert Abela underscored the significance of the newly formed Youth Advisory Forum in a recent meeting with its nine members.
During the introductory session, Abela emphasized the crucial role the youth play in contributing ideas that could positively impact the nation. The members were selected through a meticulous process, and over the next eighteen months, they will focus on providing insights on national issues beyond youth-specific concerns.
Abela highlighted Malta and Gozo as places where youth aspirations can be realized, positioning the Youth Advisory Forum as a conduit to transform common aspirations into tangible realities.

The Prime Minister outlined shared desires, including meaningful employment, a picturesque and clean environment, family time, safety, and a beautiful atmosphere.
During the meeting, Abela provided an overview of government initiatives, including completed projects and positive impacts on pensions and the Carers’ Grant.
In the environmental sector, he celebrated Wasteserv’s achievements in recycling, noting a substantial reduction in unseparated waste and an increase in separated organic waste. Regarding irregular immigration, Abela revealed that Malta relocated and returned more irregular immigrants in 2023 than the total arrivals in the preceding year.
The meeting transitioned into an interactive discussion, where Youth Advisory Forum members proposed themes for consideration, reflecting the concerns, ideas, and aspirations of the younger generation. This collaborative approach ensures the forum serves as a genuine representation of youth perspectives.
