Prime Minister hints at schools reopening with new measures

While speaking on ONE Radio, Prime Minister Robert Abela has hinted at the possible reopening of schools once the current COVID-19 measures start to be lifted on 11th of April. A bi-directional plan is allegedly in the works and being finalised which will see schools reopening in a flexible manner, with the epidemiological situation at the time dictating any other measures required.

The Prime Minister stated that it will not be an ‘aggressive reopening but a cautious one, with priority given to the education.’ Speaking to ONE journalist Edward Montebello, Abela stated that the strategy has been successful due to the vaccine rollout and the safety measures in place. He concluded by stating that the scientific evidence is on their side as the country prepares for what Abela claims might be the most crucial summer for tourism ever.

64 COVID-19 cases registered with 67 recoveries

Malta has registered 64 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 2,164 swab tests, while 67 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

As of Tuesday 6th April 2021, 219,161 vaccine doses were administered of which 60,096 were 2nd doses.

To date, Malta has registered 29,343 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 28,416 have recovered, 399 died and 528 are still active.

Marvel drops new trailer for Loki series

Tom Hiddleston will be returning as the God of Mischief in the new Dinsey+ series ‘Loki’ on 11th June 2021. The trickster will be exploring a whole new dimension after having created a divergent timeline after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Hiddleston will be joined by actor Owen Wilson who is portraying an as of yet unknown character. Marvel Studio chief Kevin Feige stated that series will answer the many questions fans have about where Loki went and what he’s been up to. This series also ties in with the now concluded first season of WandaVision and the currently airing The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, keeping the Marvel Universe alive through different mediums.

Ramiro Mallia’s family donate €1311 to Puttinu Cares

Despite having just experienced such a tragic passing of the beloved Ramiro Mallia, his family has decided to donate to Puttinu Cares a donation of €1311. The NGO posted on Facebook thanking the family for their kind gesture as the family seeks to aid other families who are experiencing the same as they had when Ramiro had to undergo treatment.

Ramiro Mallia’s family donate €1311 to Puttinu Cares

Ramiro’s passing shocked all of Malta after having died due to a gas leakage from a heater. He was renowned for constantly donating and supporting Puttinu after having survived cancer at a very young age. We send our condolences to the family and applaud their contribution to Puttinu.
