Taking to social media, Michael Debono, one of the students involved in the ethical hacking case, shared a photo of the official presidential pardon awarded to them by President Myriam Spiteri Debono.
This follows an announcement by Prime Minister Robert Abela that a presidential pardon had been granted to the three students and lecturer.
In his statement, the Prime Minister said the students and their lecturer acted with good intentions and should not have been left to face criminal proceedings alone.
He stated that the State must address such realities, and used the Cabinet’s prerogative to recommend clemency.
