President-elect, Joe Biden to be sworn in today in front of 191,500 U.S. flags

President-elect, Joe Biden will be sworn in today, 20th of January 2021 shortly before noon by Chief Justice John Roberts.

Biden will be sworn in, in front of 191,500 U.S. flags from each of the. 50 U.S. states and. territories which represent the American people who are unable to travel to D.C. because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Discussions underway over enforcement during Gozo carnival season

Clint Camilleri who is the Gozo Minister has confirmed that discussions are underway regarding the issue of enforcement during the upcoming Gozo Carnival season.

Camilleri also said that he does not think that Carnival itself will result in an influx of people going to Gozo since most major activities have been cancelled. The problem might lie with people who travel to Gozo over the three day holiday and reside in accommodations with more people other than those in their bubble.

PN MP Maria Deguara also said that youths who think that they are immune to the disease might bring about problems and she also added that they should be asked to disclose their address and the number of people who will be residing there.

Trump pardons Lil Wayne and more than 70 others on his final day.

Donald Trump has pardoned Lil Wayne among over 70 other people on his final day. Lil Wayne was found guilty of a gun charge. Among the people he pardoned is his former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon.

Bannon was charged with defrauding donors who thought their money was going towards the famous border wall between the US and Mexico. Bannon and three others are accused of defrauding more than $1 million of the $25 million raised for the ‘We Build the Wall’ campaign.

CEO Gordon Bugeja states that it was an honour for the company to conduct such a feat as sharing is one of GoTo’s pillars, highlighting the synergy between the Foundation’s mission and theirs.

GoTo had started this charitable effort back in October 2020 but continued their contribution into the Foundation’s ‘Reverse Advent Calendar’, where they utilised ten electric cars to transport over one tonne of food in more than 150 boxes.
