The beloved Austrian cooking series Silvia kocht has returned to Malta’s sister island of Gozo for a second time, shining a spotlight on its rich flavours, stunning scenery, and welcoming locals.

Filming took place between 22 and 25 March, capturing the island’s unique charm for Austrian viewers.

The journey began with a scenic ferry ride from Malta, setting the tone for a visual feast. In Gozo, the crew explored iconic sites such as the tranquil Villa Rundle gardens, the narrow streets of Victoria, and the historic Citadel with its majestic cathedral.

Among the culinary highlights was a stunning picnic by Gozo Picnic overlooking Fungus Rock in Dwejra, featuring locally sourced ingredients.

Another memorable scene unfolded at Country Terrace restaurant, where Executive Chef Havi prepared traditional Gozitan dishes—fish soup and stuffed artichokes with octopus—against the dramatic backdrop of Mġarr Harbour.

Adding a touch of adventure, host Silvia Schneider joined Gozo Adventures for a climbing session, offering a glimpse into the island’s outdoor appeal.

Now in its fifth season, Silvia kocht is a top daytime show on Austria’s ORF2. This Gozo-focused episode, supported by the Malta Tourism Authority’s Austrian office, will air on 10 October 2025 as part of a special Malta-themed week.

And that costume! A nod to the UK flag as she changed from a pillow-like-case-outfit, a nod to her being sick.

‘Came for the meds, stayed for the spice’, she wrote on an Instagram post as a roaring audience cheered her on during her performance.
