Local political leaders bid farewell to the late Francis Zammit Dimech, with politicians from across the political parties coming together to honour the man’s contributions.
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola called Zammit Dimech ‘one of the good ones. One of the best ones.’
‘One of the best ones. He loved life. He loved politics. He loved Malta. He dedicated his life to public service and he did so with a smile that never faded. For him, being in politics was a calling, about doing his duty.’
‘Francis was a mentor, a shoulder to cry on, with a smile and laugh I always relied on’, continued Metsola.
Prime Minister Robert Abela also paid his condolences, describing him as a man who, till the very end, remained of service to his country.
On his part, Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech thanked Francis from the bottom of his heart for his friendship, his advice, his humane leadership and service.
