Police officer who lost arm in hit-and-run retires after 25 years of service

Praise poured in as police officer Simon Schembri officially completed his 25 years of service on Friday, marking the end of a life-changing career.
Schembri had been victim to a hit-and-run incident in 2018 where he was dragged by a speeding car and lost his right arm in a near-fatal accident.

The officer’s daughter Leah took to Facebook to say thatdespite such an impactful tragedy, she is proud of her father as he came out a stronger man after ’25 years of saving lives, helping others, going through fire for people and most of all being a patient yourself and ending it with you fighting for your life’.
