Police officer & driver dead after car was driven into US Capitol Building

An attempted attack on the US Capitol Building in Washington has left a police officer dead and another severely injured after the suspected attacker drove a car into the Capitol’s vehicle access point.

Soon after, the attacker disembarked the vehicle and went to attack the officers with a knife.

The suspect was shot dead on site, with one officer dying of their injuries and the other currently in ‘stable condition’ in hospital after an incident which “does not appear to be terrorism-related”, according to the police.

Few local brands carry the same prestige and widespread respect as local beer brand Cisk and their latest announcement looks to shake the world.

Their latest Instagram posts follows a recent string of subliminal messages hinting at a potential non-alcoholic beer, which would be a first for the beloved beer brand.

Prior to April Fool’s Day, the brand also published a post mentioning ‘0% compromise’, further entertaining the possibility of the launch of a 0% alcoholic beverage.

As Malta’s temperatures seem to be ever on the increase as Summer draws nearer, people have utilised the advent of Good Friday to take to the beaches and cool off. The public holiday seemed to grant people a day of sunny, not to mention hot, weather and the opportunity was seized for a swim by many.

It is however important to remember that health measures are still in place; People can only be in groups of 2, unless they are from the same household. These health measures were put in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. It does seem nonetheless that the measures are being adhered to as daily cases have dropped beneath 50.

Football coach accused of sexual abuse on children awaiting sentence in Malta

A former policeman and youth football coach who fled towards Malta after sexually abusing 15 boys and girls over a period of 40 years has been found guilty in English court and is currently awaiting his sentence in Malta.

Stephen Walker lived in Malta for a number of years under a different name after fleeing the United Kingdom, only to return in 2019.

Today, he is 68 years old and has been charged with committing acts of sexually abused between 1960 and 2007 where it is reported that he abused children in England, France and even Malta.
