Police Make Sure Kids Don’t Get Lost During Carnival

The Malta Police Force brought back the ‘Carnival safety Initiative’ to make sure that no child got lost during the carnival celebrations in Valletta.

‘Following last year’s positive feedback, we’re bringing back our Carnival Safety Initiative to help keep little ones safe during the celebrations’, the force explained.

Officers stationed at Castille Square in Valletta distributed free paper bracelets for children.

‘Parents and guardians can write their name and mobile number on these bracelets, adding an extra layer of security in case a child gets separated from their family.’

Malta Record Set For Smallest Carnival Float

The Malta Carnival was filled with excitement, even breaking records. The smallest float, crafted from recycled materials, measured 2.30 feet in length, 1 foot in width, and 1.11 feet in height.

The miniature float was created by Josef Ciappara and his wife Chantelle, with the help of their young son Matteo, to whom the float was dedicated.

Malta Records is proud to contribute to the Malta Carnival by presenting more records that continue to highlight the talent of the Maltese and Gozitan people.

Valletta FC Celebrate Return To Premier League & Championship Win

Valletta FC are officially back in the Premier League after a dominant 3-0 win over Tarxien Rainbows on Saturday night, securing the BOV Challenge League title in grand fashion.

Strikes from Andrei Ciolacu, Enoch Matiti, and Jake Azzopardi ensured Valletta extended their lead at the top to 16 points, making their promotion mathematically certain despite still having matches to play.

For a club with Valletta’s rich history, last season’s shock relegation— their first in 120 years— was a bitter pill to swallow.

However, their swift return to the top tier saw well-deserved celebrations by the entire team, staff of the club and supporters.

Ferry Passengers Stranded After Gangway Falls Into Sea

An operation to retrieve a ferry’s gangway, which fell off into the sea, took place yesterday as people made their way across the channel with the Valletta and Mġarr fast ferry.

Gozo Highspeed reported the technical issues at around 1630hrs, saying that the voyages had to be cancelled due to the dangers posed by the incident.

The gangway was pulled out of the waters at around 1800hrs, with people filming the incident as authorities lifted the contraption into the air and resumed the voyages.

This came after a weekend of celebrations which sees many Maltese making their way to the sister island for costumed fun.
