Doctors warn of night-time Omicron symptoms

Doctors warn of night-time Omicron symptoms
Dec 22 2021 Share

Doctors have warned against a night-time symptom which Omicron seems to be inflicting but people do not know about.

Dr Amir Khan has said that we need to keep on top of symptoms, revealing that South African doctors have found patients infected with the variant experiencing night sweats when they sleep. The usual symptoms are hight temperatures, continuous coughing and/or a loss of taste or smell.

The doctor explained that the symptoms that are coming out of South Africa – where the strains was first found – are showing five new symptoms.

These are scratchy throats, mild muscle aches, extreme fatigue, a dry cough and night sweats. These are the kind of sweats which prompt patients to get up and change clothes.

He also called for the newer symptoms to be added to the NHS website to help make infections easier to detect. There are currently no registered cases of the Omicron variant in Malta, but authorities are stating that it will become the dominant strain by early next year.
