Designer plans to build this $8 billion turtle cruise ship

Designer plans to build this $8 billion turtle cruise ship
Jan 16 2023 Share

Modern cruise ships are already a feat in themselves, becoming more elaborate, luxurious and technologically developed as time goes on.

Now, Saudi Arabia is planning on building this massive turtle-shaped cruise ship for a whopping $8 billion. The cruise ship, which is actually a floating city called Pangs will become the home to around 60,000 people.

This means it will require all kinds of amenities, with Italian studio Lazzarini taking on the project.

The turtle-ship will contain everything from a shopping mall to apartments to a rooftop garden. It is set to be a massive 610 metres wide and 550 metres long.

65 apartments will be located in the feet and various places around the body. There will also be additional room for hotels so that tourists can enjoy the spectacle too.

There will even be room for other ships to dock, but how can this massive contraption float? It all has to do with 30,000 floating cells as well as a steel basement. The ship will move very slowly at a speed of five knots (five miles an hour).

The entire thing is set to take around 8 years to complete and you’d have to move to Saudi Arabia too!

The video shows the sands of the bay utterly encased by the washed up jellyfish. Commenters were calling for initiatives which see sea turtles reintroduced into Maltese waters in larger numbers in order to help mitigate the number of jellyfish.
