As temperatures continue to rise and Maltese residents brace for a typical Maltese summer, local weather page It-Temp Madwarna has predicted the first heat wave of 2022 to start next week.

On March 24, the page predicted that if temperatures increase gradually, Summer 2022 will be relatively hot but not extreme, going on to highlight that if low temperatures persist in April and May, it will get rapidly hot, leading to an “extreme and boiling summer.”

“Everything points towards a very hot summer 2022 with various heat waves due to the La Nina event which will persist from last year”, the page stated. Meanwhile, today’s weather is expected to heat up with temperature highs of 24°C which feel as hot as 25°C with a UV Index of 8.
