An updated edition of Genesis 1975 to 2025 – The Phil Collins Years by acclaimed Italian music journalist Mario Giammetti hits shelves April 17.

This long-awaited release expands on the previously out-of-print 2021 edition, offering two new chapters and fresh interview content, making it the most comprehensive chronicle yet of Genesis’ post-Gabriel era.

Giammetti treats each album and tour as a chapter in a larger evolution, exploring not just the music but the inter-personal dynamics, changing technologies and external pressures that shaped the band’s path.

Giammetti dives deep into the band’s transformation from prog pioneers to global pop icons. Every album and milestone is explored with journalistic precision and fan-like devotion.

Drawing on exclusive interviews and rare behind-the-scenes insights, Giammetti unpacks the creative tensions, shifting dynamics, and cultural forces that shaped the band’s journey.

Printed on premium photo paper and packed with previously unseen images and memorabilia, the book is both a collector’s item and a must-read. It also serves as a companion to Giammetti’s earlier work, Genesis 1967 to 1975 – The Peter Gabriel Years, cementing his status as the definitive Genesis biographer.

Ahead of its upcoming event at the Library Terrace on the 10th of April, the University of Malta channelled its inner Miriana Conte to promote it, entitling the event: ‘Serving Kotba on Campus.’

‘Do-re-mi-fa-s-s-serving… Kotba’, the Newspoint article reads, with a schedule and details of the event highlight exactly what’s going down.

Students even received a notification of this notification – a brilliant, in our opinion, way to get everyone excited about literature!

‘At Serving Kotba on Campus, you can expect a homegrown selection of interesting publications and a choice of engaging talks, courtesy of your hosts, House of Books, ANTAE, and our student collaborators at L-Għaqda tal-Malti, DESA (Department of English Student Association), and ALLT (Association of Linguistics and Language Technology).’
