A new Nationalist Government has pledged to focus heavily on improving connectivity between Malta and Gozo to boost the island’s economy, PN Leader Bernard Grech said during a political event.
A Nationalist government, Grech said, will prioritise expanding the ferry fleet, pledging to increase the number of ferries to five.
This expansion will include ferries that can carry more cars and passengers, reducing waiting times and improving the travel experience. New ferries will also be faster, making the journey between the islands quicker.
In addition, the Nationalist Government plans to expand the Fast Ferry service, providing a faster, more efficient travel option. New docking facilities will also be built to support the increased number of ferries and improve the overall infrastructure for ferry operations.
Grech emphasised how good connectivity is essential for the island’s economic growth. These ferry upgrades will be a key part of a broader strategy to create more job opportunities, improve services, and ensure that Gozo can thrive as a modern, well-connected region.
