Nationalist MP Eve Borg Bonello shared a video of a massive rat being chased by a cat on the University of Malta Campus, titling the video – ‘Tom and Jerry Chronicles: University Study Date’.

Following the remark, the young MP urged the authorities and public at large to acknowledge that there is a problem when it comes to rats so that it can be solved. 

This follows another video which was shared with MaltaDaily of a rat infestation in Sliema.

The Association for Abandoned Animals took to social media to share images of another unfortunate shot dog. 

‘Our hearts are sick and sore’, wrote AAA. ‘This happened a little over a week ago and the dog is ok and in recovery in AAA sanctuary.’

Snoops was found with various gun shot injuries and pellets all over his body, with AAA saying that they have no words at the atrocities going on.

Maltese Handball Team With Multiple Wins At Serbia Training Camp

The reigning local women’s handball team champions recently traveled to Serbia for a training camp that included a friendly game and a tournament against Serbian teams.

On Thursday, the team played a friendly match against ZRK Temerin, and Swieqi RGF Phoenix emerged victorious with a score of 30-33.

The Swieqi RGF Phoenix women’s handball team also participated in a tournament against ZRK Temerin, ZRK Loznica Grad, and ZRK Sloven Ruma, winning all their bouts.

The local side faced their biggest challenge in the last match against ZRK Sloven Ruma. Initially trailing by 7 goals, Phoenix managed to turn the score around, delivering a solid and nail-biting performance until the last seconds of the match. 

The score was tied till the very end, but Swieqi RGF Phoenix emerged victorious through a penalty shootout and were thus crowned tournament winners.

Malta To Perform In Second Place In Second Eurovision Semifinal

The Eurovision Song Contest official page revealed that Malta will be performing in the second place of the second semi-final, mashed between Austria and Switzerland. 

This year’s Eurovision will be taking place in Malmö, Sweden after Loreen won last year’s edition of the contest with her song ‘Tattoo’.

The semi-final draw took place in the host city alongside a ceremony which saw the city’s insignia pass from previous hosts Liverpool to Sweden. 

The Big 5 found out their fate and have been drawn to vote in the following semi-finals along with Sweden. 

It has not yet been decided who will represent Malta the year, with the winner being declared this coming Saturday. Eurovision 2024 will take place between the 7th and 11th of May.
