Doubling down on their recent claims of a regenerated party, the Nationalist Party chose another young face to address the people at today’s mass rally in Naxxar.

As the party continues to shine a light on fresh faces, today’s crowd was addressed by Jamie Vella; a young PN member and President of the Forum Opportunitajiet Indaqs Partit Nazzjonalista (FOIPN) and Former Public Relations Officer within the MŻPN. Vella stated that it is a great honour for him to speak to ‘the largest crowd he has ever addressed’. The PN lost most of its LGBTI community members after the Labour Party put LGBTI community rights as a central priority, which was one of the key factors to the party’s massive electoral win in 2013.

Following the signing of an agreement presided over by Prime Minister Robert Abela, two tracts of land have been transferred to Puttinu Cares and Richmond Foundation respectively.

Gozo to lead in getting all energy from renewable sources says Abela
Mar 6 2022 Share

Speaking during a political rally yesterday evening, Prime Minister Robert Abela revealed that Gozo will be the first in the country to derive all the energy it consumes from renewable sources.

Addressing a crowd of Labour supporters on Malta’s sister island, Abela said that he considers Gozo to be a symbol of change and a pioneer in Malta’s ongoing digital transformations.

The Prime Minister said that, if elected into government, the Labour Party would make sure that Gozo would be an island wherein all energy is derived from renewable sources in an efficient manner.

He went on to highlight the obstacles that Gozitans face, especially when the Maltese economy was not doing well. Taking a jab at the Opposition, Abela said that the people of Gozo will not be treated as second class citizens under his administration.

Apart from the pledge concerning the renewable energy, Abela promised to set up a new centre of excellence for research in Gozo, investing at least €162 million in European funds to reach this goal.

On their part, the Opposition pledged to build a new vessel for the channel ferry, as well as build a new hospital which can house up to 400 beds. Both parties aimed at highlighting Gozo at the centre of their politics.
