The Phoenicia Malta has been recognised in the 2024 Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, maintaining its position in the top 10 hotels in Central and Southern Europe and ranking among the top 20 in Europe overall.

It is the only hotel in Malta to feature in the prestigious top 10 list this year, alongside luxury properties in Vienna, Budapest, Salzburg, and Prague. The Phoenicia Malta is also one of just four European hotels to retain its spot from the previous year, confirming its status as a top destination for luxury travellers.

The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the travel industry’s most respected accolades, with hundreds of thousands of global travellers voting each year. Their ratings and reviews highlight favourite destinations and hotels, and The Phoenicia Malta continues to be a standout choice for those eager to return.

“We are incredibly proud that Condé Nast readers have once again chosen to use their vote for The Phoenicia Malta in this year’s Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards,” says Robyn Pratt, General Manager at The Phoenicia Malta.

“Being the only hotel in Malta to earn a place among the top 10 in Central and Southern Europe is a true testament to the dedication of our team and the loyalty of our guests. Our team’s commitment to delivering a warm, personalised service is at the heart of everything we do, and to see this reflected in our guests’ feedback is deeply gratifying,” she adds.

“Featuring in Condé Nast Traveler’s top 10 list is not just great for The Phoenicia Malta, but also for Malta – and we are proud to continue to represent the best of Maltese hospitality on the international stage.”

Xummiemu Campaign Sees Increase In Action To Keep Malta Clean

Xummiemu Campaign Sees Increase In Action To Keep Malta Clean
Oct 1 2024 Share

Following the launch of Xummiemu’s educational campaign, there has been a significant rise in downloads of the Clean and Upkeep app and an increase in reports to the Department of Cleaning and Maintenance.

In August, the first month of the campaign, app downloads surpassed the total from the previous seven months combined.

This update was shared by the Parliamentary Secretary for Public Cleanliness, Glenn Bedingfield, and Clean Malta’s Director General, Ramon Deguara, during an intervention by Division workers in Delimara, responding to a report submitted via the app.

The app is designed to assist the public in reporting areas needing Division intervention and to encourage direct action against illegal dumping, promoting a cleaner environment.

An 80% rise in reports was observed compared to the year’s first seven months, with the majority submitted through the app. Additional reports came via the 1718 hotline (28%) and email (13%).

Between August and mid-September, the campaign drove 1,550 app downloads, reflecting a 250% increase. Since the start of the year, over 13,609 reports were submitted, with more than 93% resolved, many within hours.

“This campaign highlights the strong awareness among the Maltese and Gozitan people about the importance of maintaining a clean country,” Bedingfield remarked.
