The bird stood gently on its owner’s finger, as he snapped photos of the colourful pet outright chilling to the cool breeze and fireworks.

Name something more wholesome, we’ll wait.

Malta Makes International Headlines with Netflix Production Starring Henry Cavill And Millie Bobby Brown

Malta Makes International Headlines with Netflix Production Starring Henry Cavill And Millie Bobby Brown
Apr 22 2025 Share

Malta is once again making waves on the global stage as Hollywood stars Henry Cavill and Millie Bobby Brown land on the island to film Enola Holmes 3, the latest instalment in Netflix’s hit mystery franchise.

The film continues the story of Enola Holmes, the daring younger sister of Sherlock Holmes, played by Brown. In this new chapter, Enola trades the fog of Victorian England for the sun-soaked streets of Malta — and finds herself at the centre of her most dangerous mystery yet.

As reported by Variety, “The third instalment sees adventure chase Enola Holmes to Malta, where… personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before.” Netflix’s own Tudum adds that Enola “is flung into a nest of vipers,” as she juggles a new case and the next stage of her relationship with Tewkesbury, played by Louis Partridge.

Henry Cavill returns as Sherlock Holmes, alongside Helena Bonham Carter, Himesh Patel and Sharon Duncan-Brewster. Philip Barantini, fresh off the success of Netflix’s Adolescence, steps in to direct the third film, with the script once again penned by BAFTA-winner Jack Thorne.

The production has sparked international buzz, with Malta taking centre stage thanks to its cinematic charm and the continued efforts of the Malta Film Commission. The Commission has played a key role in attracting major productions to the island through strong incentives and on-ground support — helping transform Malta into a global film destination.

As cameras roll across some of Malta’s most iconic locations, the island prepares to shine in what promises to be another smash hit for Netflix.
