Speaking to MaltaDaily, a family member said that the family expects justice from the court. He also explained how Pelin came to Malta because she was told that the country is safe, especially for women, and that she wanted to continue her studies on the island. Pelin herself loved Malta, she had told her family.

The accused, who was reportedly intoxicated with cocaine during the incident, is pleading not guilty to the murder.

Infrastructure Malta told platform TVM News that in the past 4 years up to 2022, 75% of roads which required rebuilding or urgent works were completed.

Chief Executive Ivan Falzon informed the news room that, in two more years, IM will have fulfilled the pledge that these roads will be finished in seven years.

When pooled together, the roads amass up to 500km worth of operable road infrastructure. Around €1.2 million had to be used out of contractors’ pockets due to the works not being up to Infrastructure Malta standards in the six months he’s spent as chief executive.

1,057 roads were completed as of 2018. The work started during that year, Falzon said, with Infrastructure Malta’s first year of work being 2019. The aim is to reach the goal of 1,400 roads by 2024/2025, he told TVM News.

In 2022, IM rebuilt 200 roads through the investment of €70 million. Pooled together, these roads amass around 60km.

Last 3 finalists chosen for Malta’s Got Talent finale

Last 3 finalists chosen for Malta's Got Talent finale
Jan 30 2023 Share

After what could have been one of the most emotional episodes of Malta’s Got Talent, the three acts moving on to the finale of the show have been chosen.

First up were Dancing Angels, whose tight choreography along with their iconic style of taking us to different worlds (this time deep into the jungle) won the audience’s vote.

Following them closely were La Voix Harmonies, Valentina Rossi’s Golden Buzzer performance who brought to life one of the most iconic tracks from ‘The Greatest Showman’ to the Malta’s Got Talent Stage.

Finally, the judges reached a deadlock between 10-year-old adorable DJ Sheron and the majestic queen of drag Trihanna Wilde. Emotions were high as both performers had massive backing and outright deserved to be in the final themselves.

In the end, Sheron won the audience vote, making him the last semi-finalist to secure a place in the final. The night showed other majestic talents who all gave their all and wowed the crowd with their own particular disciplines.
