The Popular Party has stated that in the coming legislature, and years to follow if need be, will be committing to working on the rebuilding of a new Teatru Rjal on the original plans drafted by architect Edward Middleton Barry.
This was announced during a press conference addressed by party leader Paul Salomone. Salomone stated that as funds are allocated to other projects, similar funds must be dedicated to such a project. He stated that the theatre was never rebuilt because there never was a political push.

The party leader stated that there are other projects related to Malta’s cultural heritage which deserve attention such as Fort Campbell, Birkirkara’s Stazzjon garden, Fort Delimara and others.
