Taking to social media, the Armed Forces of Malta revealed that, following the Helios storm which whipped up intense rain and wind, part of a WW2 British torpedo was sighted in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq.

The mangled torpedo was spotted on land, which prompted a retrieval unit by the AFM’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal and Plant Troop to be deployed.

The troop, which forms part of the 3rd Regiment, conducted all the necessary checks on location before safely removing it from the site.
