Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne announced during a press conference that more than 60,000 people downloaded their vaccine certificate. Stating that with the COVID-19 epidemiological situation in Malta under control, Fearne is confident that Malta will be part of the European Green passport by the 1st July. 76% of the Maltese population has been vaccinated with at least the first dose, compared with only 13% of the world population.
With the target set at 80% of the population getting their jab, the Health minister stated that those between the ages of 12 to 15 will be getting their invitation to receive their vaccine. Placing Malta on the European Green Passport means that European citizens can come to Malta without excessive restrictions.
