
In April 2025, inbound tourists to Malta totalled an estimated 351,165, an increase of 14.6% compared to April 2024.
Of these, 327,305 visited for holiday purposes, while 16,586 arrived for business.
The largest group of tourists were aged 25 to 44 (35.4%), followed by those aged 45–64 (34.4%). British, Italian, and Polish residents together accounted for 46.4% of all arrivals.
Total nights spent by tourists rose by 19.7% year-on-year, surpassing 2 million nights. A substantial majority (87.6%) of guest nights were spent in rented accommodation. The average stay stood at 5.7 nights.
Tourist expenditure for the month exceeded €296.2 million, marking a 23.6% increase over April 2024. Average spend per night was estimated at €147.5.
A total of 194,126 tourists (55.3% of all arrivals) visited Gozo and Comino, either as same-day or overnight visitors.
Between January and April 2025, inbound tourist arrivals reached 1,044,657, a rise of 17.4% compared to the same period in 2024.
Total nights spent approached 6 million, up by 17.1%. Tourist expenditure for this period was estimated at €804.7 million – 24.2% higher than in 2024. Per capita spending rose from €728 to €770.
Visits to Gozo and Comino totalled 526,752, or 50.4% of all tourists.
