The Rings of Power, based off the Lord of the Rings universe, has just dropped and fans couldn’t resist tuning in, with millions watching on.

And it just so happens that local makeup artist Henry Galea designed one of the many orc designs used in this series, which is set to be the most expensive TV show ever produced.

More than 25 million people watched the first episode on the first day it was available. Henry Galea was asked by Prime Video’s team to create one of the designs for the army of villainous orcs in the series.

Galea’s talent was picked up whilst he was involved with the ACM Awards in Las Vegas. They promptly urged him not to post any Rings of Power related content before they reached out to him to ask him to create one of the many designs.

Galea’s design was released to the world and promptly featured on posters shown worldwide. Amazon bought the TV rights for The Lord of the Rings for around $250 million in 2017, committing to a five season worth at least $1 billion.

PN MP Alex Borg blames lack of security over lack of resources, not police

Sep 5 2022 Share

PN shadow minister for Gozo told MaltaDaily that the main reason for all of the issues regarding lack of security, not only in Gozo, but also in Malta, is the lack of resources given to the police rather than the police themselves.

He went on to say that this lack of resources that the police force faces is not only financial but also in terms of human resources.

Borg later on stated that if a criminal does not feel the presence of a policeman because of these lack of resources, they will feel more comfortable to commit their crime and further jeopardise security in the community.

When talking about criminals, Borg also highlighted how these criminals are not solely foreigners but can also be a Maltese or Gozitan person.
