Over 1,500 people took part in a series of family-friendly activities organised by various entities within the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness during the Easter holidays.
These events aimed to encourage the public to enjoy open spaces while raising awareness about sustainability and the environment.
Minister Miriam Dalli praised the strong turnout, noting how encouraging it is to see families connecting with nature and benefiting from the green spaces being developed.
A highlight of the holiday program was Wirt in-Natura: Spring Edition, held at Buskett Gardens by Project Green.
The event featured an Easter Egg Hunt, K9 police shows, and performances by Tikka Banda and Ta’ Varna Folk Group. Various agencies, including ERA, Ambjent Malta, and Circular Economy Malta, contributed to hands-on activities about climate change and sustainability.
Ambjent Malta also led an Easter Adventure Challenge at Buskett and an educational biodiversity walk on Comino. The walk emphasised the ecological importance of Comino’s Marine Protected Area.
Meanwhile, the Energy and Water Agency hosted an Easter Egg Hunt at Chadwick Lakes, which included nature walks and games, supported by a free shuttle service. WasteServ’s Eco Magic workshop at the ECOHIVE Academy in Marsaskala rounded off the week with fun, interactive lessons on waste reduction.
