Kendrick Lamar is set to headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9. This announcement comes after a standout year for the rapper, marked by two number-one singles in the US, both aimed at rival rapper Drake. Lamar, no stranger to the Super Bowl stage, previously performed alongside Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and 50 Cent in 2022.

In a YouTube video teasing the performance, Lamar is seen shooting footballs from an automatic passing machine while standing in front of an American flag. “No round twos,” Lamar declares, inviting fans to join him in New Orleans. “Wear your best dress, even if you’re watching from home.”

The 17-time Grammy winner stated, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date, and I’ll be there to remind the world why.” Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation collaborates with the NFL to select halftime performers, praised Lamar as a “once-in-a-generation artist” whose influence on music and culture is unparalleled.

Vittoriosa Win Victory Day Regatta For 2nd Consecutive Year

Vittoriosa Win Victory Day Regatta For 2nd Consecutive Year
Sep 9 2024 Share

Vittoriosa ended a 40-year wait to win the Victory Day Regatta in dramatic fashion, securing victory in the final race, Tal-Pass B’Erbgħa, at Valletta Grand Harbour on Sunday.

The team crossed the finish line first, narrowly beating a strong Senglea contingent that took second place. Cospicua, chasing Senglea’s record of 23 shields, finished third.

This victory marks Vittoriosa’s second consecutive success after sharing last year’s shield with Cospicua. However, it is the first time they have lifted the Victory Day Regatta shield outright since their triumph in 1984.

In the ‘B’ category, Cospicua clinched the shield after winning two of the five races, including the decisive final race.

Despite Kalkara and Marsamxett being in strong positions to win the shield before the final race, Kalkara’s collision with Vittoriosa and Marsamxett’s third-place finish opened the door for Cospicua’s victory.

Vittoriosa also claimed the women’s shield with a dominant performance from rowers Shazel Grima and Glynnis Mizzi, representing Birgu.
