OnlyFans owner Leonid Radvinsky earned over $500 million since he joined the company in 2020 as creators make billions through content.
OnlyFans was initially founded by British businessman Tim Stokely in 2016 and went on to amass over 220 million users. Two million are content creators.
With COVID-19 lockdowns boosting the success of the platform, OnlyFans saw a 128% increase in number of subscribers in 2021 as well as a 34% increase in creators.
The site makes a 20% commission on all payments made to its content creators. Ukrainian-American businessman Radvinsky bought the company in 2020 when Stokely stepped down.
According to BBC, Radvinsky was paid $284 million in 2021 and another $233 million since November. But the owner isn’t the only one making big bucks off the site. The same report states that content creators pulled in around $4 billion in 2021.
A similar scenario could be going down in Malta. A recent Times of Malta editorial revealed that various local OnlyFans content creators were making more money than they were when they worked traditional jobs.
Some creators reported making well over €2,000 per month, with fans subscribing to their account for fees ranging between €7 to €25 every month. Some subscribers also get to chat with the creators, sometimes for a fee.
