Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, but the road had to be closed due to potential hazards.

The driver and passenger in the van immediately took to social media to clarify that the vehicle was not a school transport van and was empty at the time.

They expressed their gratitude to Transport Malta, the Civil Protection Department, the Police, and the medical team for their swift assistance.

The road was eventually reopened, and traffic returned to normal.
