Billie Eilish fan tries to sell ‘rare’ air from artist’s concert for $10,000

Billie Eilish fan tries to sell ‘rare’ air from artist’s concert for $10,000
Aug 28 2022 Share

A Billie Eilish fan attempted to sell off a bag of, what they deemed to be, ‘very rare air’ collected from one of the artist’s concerts for around $10,000.

A Singaporean fan decided to kick it up a notch and, instead of selling normal Eilish memorabilia, they opted for a different kind of souvenir. Filling up a small plastic bag from one of her gigs, they racked it up to 15,000 Singapore dollars.

The anonymous seller listed the item on Carousell, describing it as very rare and promised that the item would be kept in an air tight container upon dealing to prevent any precious leaks.

The description was not all too encouraging either, as it read: “I stood at the very front and managed to get her air in the plastic when she scream[ed] her lungs out during the concert. For those who missed the concert [u] can buy this!! Very rare air!!”.

To their credit, the seller did try to authenticate the plastic bag by adding photos of Eilish on stage taken at the concert in Singapore on 21st August.

The item has since been removed off the site and this could mean several things. Either someone was actually interested in buying a bag filled with oxygen or that they realised that what they were trying to sell wasn’t exactly going to bring in the cash.

Malta’s Summer 2022 breaks new energy demand record with 581 MegaWatts

Malta’s Summer 2022 breaks new energy demand record with 581 MegaWatts
Aug 28 2022 Share

The highest demand in electricity this summer in Malta was reached back on the 7th of July 2022, when energy consumption across the islands rocketed up to 581 Megawatts.

This increase in demand, which has been on a constant rise year after year, has forced Enemalta to invest up to €15 million per year for six years to reinforce the distribution system.

Such works involve the opening of new substations, the changing of various wire systems and underground cables, as well as the modernisation of Marsascala’s distribution centres.

Statistics acquired by Enemalta show how this summer was no exception, as previously mentioned. The 581 Megawatts consumed were generated from the two gas power stations, the inter-connector as well as solar panels.

This is a 16 MegaWatt increase over the previous record which was resisted on the 3rd of August 2021. However, another record was registered on the 17th of August 2022. A total of 545 MegaWatts were also registered as the highest electrical consumption during the evening when no solar panels were being used.

TVM News was informed by Distribution Manager Alistair Camilleri that the interventions and works being undertaken are crucial to guarantee consistency in voltage and to reduce damages during the distribution.
