Now we’ve seen it all – the McDelivery Detector is a new product by the fast food giant which detects the presence of burnt food and delivers a meal before you can get the smoke out of our house.
The detector was designed by creative agency TBWA/NEBOKO for McDonald’s and it is, suffice to say, not your average smoke detector.
See, the detector, which appears as a Big Mac clinging upside down from the ceiling, picks up the smoke from the blackened food after you’ve left it cooking for too long.
The detector will automatically send your pre-selected meal to your nearest McDonald’s restaurant and it will deliver your substitute meal in just minutes because, well, you overcooked.
The detector does come with a warning however, saying that it should not act as a replacement for your old smoke detector. Hence McDonald’s and the designers advise you to keep the original no matter how loud the beeping noise is.
People from the Netherlands will have the chance to win the detector by sending their worst kitchen moments to the McDonald’s app. We’ll see if this comes an actual thing people can buy world-wide soon because let’s face it – who doesn’t want a Big Mac hanging from their ceiling?
