New lips device lets you kiss people anywhere in the world

Are you and your significant other separated by land and water? Well, this definitely not creepy device released by a technology company in China will let you get some action despite the distance difference.

Working as a phone attachment, it is equipped with warm and moveable silicon lips and marketed for long-distance lovers through China’s online shopping website Taboo.

Called Remote Kiss, the invention’s leading designer, Jiang Zhongli, said he was inspired by his own long-distance relationship to find a way to reconnect to his loved one.

“In my university, I was in a long-distance relationship with my girlfriend so we only had contact with each other through the phone. That’s where the inspiration of this device originated,” Zhongli explained.

The device is equipped with pressure sensors and actuators to mimic a real smooth kiss by replicating ‘pressure, movement and temperature’ characterised by normal human lips.

The device can also reportedly, get this, replicate the noise one makes when kissing. It works through an app that users download on their phones and then plugged into the device via the charging port.

Partners must then couple up in the app so they can begin a video call and kiss each other through the internet. However, users can also ‘upload’ their kisses in the app for other users to experience…

We’ll let you digest all of this information at your own pace.

Degiorgio party image condemned at European level by Anti-SLAPP

Degiorgio party image condemned at European level by Anti-SLAPP
Feb 26 2023 Share

Taking to Twitter, Senior legal advisor at the European Centre for Press & Media Reform and member of Steering Committee of the Coalition Against SLAPPs in Europe Flutura Kusari condemned the recently released photo of Daphne Caruana Galizia’s murderer at a party.

‘This is how #Malta treats criminals who kill journalists – it allows them out of jail to party and enjoy life when they are serving a sentence for a journalist’s murder. What is the end goal of this approach? This shameful decision has implications at a European level’ she wrote.

The sentiments were echoed by Roberta Metsola, who said that this story hit a raw nerve for her. ‘It is outrageous. Shocking. Nauseating.’

‘Daphne can no longer enjoy time with her sons and play with her grandchildren. She cannot speak to her husband, her sisters or her parents. She cannot write her column. She cannot upload her blog’ wrote the European Parliament President.

Meanwhile, ‘the man who murdered her can party and pose for photographs with impunity. This is not justice. That is the opposite’ she finished.

Also taking to Twitter, son of the late journalist Andrew Caruana Galizia said that George Degiorgio ‘lost his right to family life the moment he began murdering innocent human beings for money. His 40 year sentence for my mother’s murder cannot allow for any exceptions. Or murder in Malta will begin to mean absolutely nothing.’

The sentiments were further echoed by Opposition Leader Bernard Grech who, in sharing the photos, said: ‘This is Malta under Robert Abela. Wake up! This impunity ends if you move and join against it.’

‘Malta deserves better. You deserve better. You can birth a better Malta’ he finished his post saying.

Say Goodbye to Traditional Business Cards and Hello to DOUP

Say Goodbye to Traditional Business Cards and Hello to DOUP
Feb 26 2023 Share

Attention all businesspeople, entrepreneurs, and creatives, there is a new game-changing product hitting the Maltese market that will help you up your networking game! Say goodbye to traditional paper-based business cards, and hello to the innovative DOUP NFC business card.

So, what exactly is DOUP? It’s a smart business card powered by Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. If all that sounds like gobbledygook, don’t worry, we’ll break that down for you. Essentially, it works like contactless phone payments. You bring the DOUP card close to a smartphone, and voila, your contact information is displayed right on the recipient’s phone that instant. Cool, right?

But wait, there’s more. DOUP NFC business cards are available in various product types. This innovative company isn’t just about providing standard plastic cards, oh no. They’ve got eco-friendly bamboo or metal cards that scream ‘I care about the planet’, fun stickers that’ll make you stand out from the crowd, and even super cool wristbands for those on-the-go networking moments. With DOUP, there’s a card for everyone, and every occasion!

With DOUP, you’re not just giving out your phone number and email, you’re giving your potential clients and collaborators an entire portfolio at their fingertips. Links to gorgeous photo galleries, slick ads that’ll leave them wanting more, and even syncing your calendar reservations with ease. The sky’s the limit with DOUP. Plus, it gets even better. When you purchase a card, you’ll get access to their user-friendly platform that lets you update and personalise your profile with ease. Talk about a business card that’s got your back.

Now, let’s talk about how it works. The idea is to “tap” another device and instantly share contact information. With NFC, you can quickly connect to another device or retrieve small amounts of ready-to-download information, up to 1MB. NFC has similar features to Bluetooth but is a much more flexible alternative. When the card is touched to the mobile phone, the information encoded on the card is received and instantly displayed on the phone.

And if you’re curious about whether there are any more benefits to using a DOUP NFC business card, the answer is a resounding yes! Using DOUP is a sure-fire way to show off your innovative edge and stand out from the crowd. And while you’re wowing them with your modern style, you can feel good knowing that you’re being kind to the planet too. These cards are way more eco-friendly than their traditional paper counterparts.

DOUP not only provides a seamless way to share your contact details but also enables the integration of payment services like PayPal and Revolut. This means that customers can easily pay for your services on the spot, without the hassle of exchanging bank details. And that’s not all, the DOUP platform also provides in-depth analytics and statistics, allowing you to track how many times your card has been shared and which links have been opened the most. This information can be invaluable for tracking the effectiveness of your marketing efforts and making data-driven business decisions, empowering you with valuable insights to grow your business.

But wait, there’s more! Not only will you be saving trees, you’ll be saving money too. No more pricey printing costs or worrying about running out of cards at the worst possible moment. And when you do connect with a potential business partner or client, you’ll be able to share your contact info quickly and easily without the risk of typos or lost contacts. It’s a win-win situation all around.

Ready to take your networking game to the next level? Then head to www.mydoup.com now. Discover how you can get your hands on your own personalised NFC business card and take the first step towards revolutionising your networking experience.

Cloudy week ahead for Malta as yellow wind warning issued

Cloudy week ahead for Malta as yellow wind warning issued
Feb 25 2023 Share

It seems as though the brief sunny and warm weather all over the Maltese islands will be short lived as some very cloudy skies are being forecasted for the end of this week, getting even worse as next week progresses.

According to the Malta International Airport Weather Forecast, the weekend is set to be mainly cloudy, pushing into mid-next week with the same weather.

However, it will be Thursday the 2nd of March which will bring the isolated rain showers as temperatures drop to around 16 degrees Celsius.

But that may not be the thing we should be concerned most about as the meteorological offices have issue a yellow warning for today due to strong winds set to hit from the south and southeast.

Temperatures are set to feel between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius, with the highest temperature actually being 19 degrees Celsius.

According to Facebook page ‘It-Temp Madwarna’, the weather for today is also set to be quite cloudy and hazy, with a 40% chance of rainfall. The force of the surrounding seas is expected to be moderate but may become strong due to the wind.
