Minister for Health and Active Aging, Jo Etienne Abela, has officially opened a new clinic serving the community in Għargħur. This clinic will provide essential medical services, including family doctor consultations, speech and language pathology, as well as podiatry, among others. Funded in part by the National Development and Social Fund (NDSF), the clinic aims to benefit over 5,000 residents of Għargħur and its neighboring areas.
Minister Jo Etienne Abela emphasizes the importance of aligning primary care services at Community Clinics with the guidelines set by the World Health Organization (WHO). This ensures that healthcare systems and services are optimally effective when they are closely integrated with the local community. The primary objective of this initiative is to prioritize patient-centered care.
“The Government remains committed to investing in and enhancing primary care services within our communities, thereby ensuring the delivery of top-quality healthcare,” Minister Abela affirms.
