New Agreement To Shift Road Cleaning To Off-Peak Hours

Transport Malta and the Cleansing and Maintenance Division have signed a new agreement to carry out road cleaning during off-peak hours in an effort to reduce traffic congestion and improve service efficiency.

The agreement was formalised during the Public Services Expo 2025, with Transport Minister Chris Bonett and Parliamentary Secretary for Public Cleanliness Glenn Bedingfield presiding over the signing.

As part of the plan, cleaning on arterial and distributor roads will no longer take place during peak traffic times, specifically between 6:00am and 9:00am on weekdays, and 9:00am to 1:00pm on Saturdays.

Motorcyclist Grievously Injured In Early Morning Crash

A 37 year old motorcyclist sustained grievous injuries this morning after being involved in a traffic accident along Triq Aldo Moro in Marsa.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:15am and involved a collision between a Yamaha GPD125-A motorcycle and a Toyota Aygo.

The motorbike was being driven by an Albanian man, resident of St Paul’s Bay, while the car was driven by a 65 year old man from San Ġwann.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and the injured motorcyclist was transported to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He was later certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

AFM Mounts Honour Guard for President At Expo 2025

Quarter Guard by the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) Recruit Intake 251 was mounted in honour of the President of Malta, Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono. The ceremonial display took place at the Public Service Expo 2025, held at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) in Ta’ Qali.

The Public Service Expo 2025, organised by @servizz_pubbliku, showcases the work and services of various government departments and agencies.

EXPO Village 25 will be open from 21th till 25 thMay 2025.

4 Arrested During Drug Raid In Msida And MIA

Four individuals were arrested by the Malta Police Force in connection with drug importation, trafficking, and possession following two separate operations in Msida and at Malta International Airport.

During coordinated efforts by the Malta Police Force, suspected cocaine, ketamine, cannabis, and pills with an estimated market value of €6,000 were uncovered.

The arrests followed two separate drug-related operations carried out by the Malta Police Force in Msida and at Malta International Airport.

All suspects are currently being held in police custody, and their names have not been released, likely due to ongoing investigations or legal restrictions.
