Aġenzija Sapport and the Active Ageing and Community Care have signed a new agreement which will lead to further support for disabled individuals and to strengthen collaboration between the two entities for the benefit of the elderly and disabled individuals.
This agreement was announced by Minister for Inclusion and Volunteering Julia Farrugia Portelli and Parliamentary Secretary for Active Aging Malcolm Paul Agius Galea.
This agreement, covering a period of three years, will enable the Department for Active Aging and Community Care to provide services to disabled individuals who use Aġenzija Sapport services, which will include services from e nurses and carers, physiotherapy, podiatry services, and occupational therapy. This also includes collaboration to provide assistance to disabled individuals residing in elderly care homes.
In addition, individuals aged 60 and above living in the community and referred to the Department for Active Aging and Community Care may receive assistance to purchase assistive devices produced by the Support Agency.
Disabled individuals under 60 may benefit from services provided by the Department, while disabled individuals living in elderly care homes and under 60 will receive necessary support from Support Agency professionals.
