A new Active Age Centre has officially opened in the heart of the locality of Isla. The centre now operates from a renovated and modern space, as part of a project to regenerate the main entrance to the area.
The inauguration took place in the presence of the Parliamentary Secretary for Active Age, Malcolm Paul Agius Galea, and the Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government, Alison Zerafa Civelli, together with the Mayor of Isla, Clive Pulis.
Parliamentary Secretary Malcolm Paul Agius Galea said that the centre not only brings essential services closer to residents but also creates a space where older people can interact, learn new skills, and continue to contribute actively to society in a more modern environment. He emphasised the commitment to ensuring that such centres remain pillars of preventive care and social engagement in every locality. “With this centre, we continue to strengthen our presence in the community and promote active ageing.” Dr Agius Galea said.
