
Maltese endurance swimmer Neil Agius has been nominated for two major World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA) Awards—Man of the Year and Performance of the Year.
These nominations place him among the world’s top open-water swimmers and recognise his incredible achievements in the sport.

Agius made history on September 23, 2024, setting a new world record for the longest unassisted, current-neutral ocean swim.
He covered 142.3 km around Malta and Gozo in 60 hours, 35 minutes, and 4 seconds, redefining endurance swimming.
Neil is nominated for:
Man of the Year: Honours individuals who inspire and lead the open-water swimming community.
Performance of the Year: Recognises swims that push human limits and make history.
Past winners include legendary swimmers like Andy Donaldson, making Agius’ nomination a testament to his world-class status.
