Local heroes Neil Agius and Fabio Spiteri have taken to the water for a 12-hour community charity swim, aiming to raise funds and awareness for Inspire Malta.
Neil Agius, an ultra-distance swimmer who holds the world record for the longest unassisted ocean swim, shared his enthusiasm on Facebook before diving in. He expressed the duo’s commitment to pushing their physical limits by swimming non-stop for 12 hours. Their goal is to promote the accessibility of swimming for all children, highlighting the sport’s potential to offer safety and enjoyment for families.
Fabio Spiteri, a seasoned triathlon coach and record holder, is attempting his longest swim to date alongside Agius. This effort is not just a physical challenge but also a drive to support charitable causes, with all proceeds aimed at enhancing swimming programs and facilities for children through Inspire Malta.
This charity swim is more than just a test of endurance; it’s a showcase of community spirit and a push towards making swimming an accessible and enjoyable activity for every child in Malta.
Kudos and good luck!
