Local athletes competing in the Special Olympics have been mounting medal after medal, proving that hard work and determination has produced some of the very best on the island.
First off, Malta went on to win the first-ever unified Waterpolo demonstration game in the history of the Special Olympics.
The Maltese athletes won 10-4 against an international selection after it was organised on the sidelines of the Special Olympics Malta Invitational Games 2022. But that was not all as another star absolutely owned the 25m Butterfly.
Mark Zammit Cutajar won the gold medal during the swim, whilst also winning silver in the 25m freestyle final and silver in the 25m medley final. He was an absolute star in the water, pulling off an amazing feat with insane positive energy.
The games kicked off on Saturday 14th May and will run until Wednesday 18th May. It is a time to show what the Maltese are truly made of and highlight inclusivity during the games.
