Posting to his philanthropic channel, world famous YouTuber Mr Beast revealed his latest stunt in giving 20,000 kids in South Africa their first pair of shoes.
Working with his sponsor Lectric eBikes, the YouTuber donated a massive amount of footwear to kids in Africa so that they could walk to school in the morning.
The YouTuber, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, explained to his viewers that walking to school barefoot is the only option for these students given the poverty in their rural towns.
Donaldson sought out charity Barefoot No More, which creates footwear designed with innovative materials for durability and comfort. The team met two junior school teachers in a Cape Town rural village.
Once the shoes had landed, Mr Beast stated, they were sent to nine different schools all over the region.
“To witness these kids wearing their first-ever pairs of shoes was really emotional and again, a realisation of the basic needs that most of us take for granted,” MrBeast said.
Recently, the young YouTuber posted a video ‘curing blindness’ for around 1000 people. However, these stunts did not go down well with everyone. In response to criticism, Mr Beast tweeted out saying:
“Twitter – Rich people should help others with their money.
“Me – Okay, I’ll use my money to help people and I promise to give away all my money before I die. Every single penny.
“Twitter – MrBeast bad.”
