A protest held by Moviment Graffitti is currently under way near Malta’s Parliament, with the activists condemning the conflict in Gaza as they held a banner stating ‘Palestine: A Homeland Denied’.
In a recent Facebook post, Moviment Graffitti wrote “Palestinians in Gaza are being massacred by Israel while Europe complies. Non-stop bombardments have led to the brutal deaths of thousands of children, women and men. And Gaza is also dying of thirst, hunger and desparation after Isreal blocked the water, food and fuel supplies’.
The organisation stated that they planted themselves near Parliament in solidarity of the people in Gaza, “victims of unimaginable atrocities.”
“Gaza is a strip of land as big as Malta, conerted into a prison by Israel in 2007. Around 2.5 million Palestinians inhabit it, a lot of them immigrants banished from their lands by force in 1948, when the Israel state was created,” the post read.
Earlier today, first aid tracks began to enter Gaza through Rafah crossing, a crossing between Egypt and Gaza which was opened earlier today. Around 20 trucks carrying necessary resources include medicine, equipment and limited amounts of food have entered, with Hamas also reportedly releasing their first two hostages, a mother and a daughter.
