A 34-year-old motorcyclist from Bulgaria has succumbed to his injuries following a crash in Żejtun on Sunday evening.

The second fatality on the roads in as many days, the food courier was driving in Anton Buttigieg Street, Zejtun when he was involved in a crash with a pick up truck which allegedly emerged from a side-road.

This follows the passing of a 20-year-old motorist who died from injuries he suffered when the car he was driving crashed into a tree and over turned. It also follows an Aldo Moro incident wherein a truck overturned, killing Ajay Shrestha after he was hit by a falling pole.

Rest in Peace

God of War could be made into a TV series by Amazon Prime

God of War could be made into a TV series by Amazon Prime

Yes, you read the title correctly – Amazon Prime is in talks to transform playstation’s epic saga of God of War into a live-action TV series.

According to Deadline, Amazon Prime is currently engaging in all the corporate talk and negotiation required to give Kratos a live-action adaptation.

If the rumours are true, the Expanse creators/executive producers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby could be teaming up with Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions to create a series around the mythical video game.

The rumours have not been confirmed by anyone yet, but this would mean that God of War could join the likes of The Last of Us to be one of the playstation games brought to live-action.

Many fans of the console are familiar with the God of War series, which sees Kratos brutally making his way across the Greek Olympian pantheon through blood, gore and a tormented thirst for vengeance.

However, given that the God of War series was revamped to take Kratos to the freezing North and fight the Norse gods, it is unsure which part of the games the series would be taking on.

Whichever version of the game they take on, it is sure to be the perfect series for all fans of all things mythology, fantasy and adventure. But there are also themes of family, love, loss and vengeance to explore – making it a perfect pick for a TV series.

Speaking during a political rally in Marsaxlokk, Prime Minister Robert Abela announced several new measures which target fishermen to help them and their practice.

Robert Abela stated that the fishing industry, as well as farming and other traditional practices, are vital for Malta. He spoke about how during the pandemic, the industry proved to be essential in ensuring that the Maltese population has alternatives and a source of food and other vital supplies when the economy was receiving a massive hit.

Abela revealed that, if elected to government, the Labour Party would work on fixing traditional fishing boats, creating new landing sites as well as financial instruments and mechanisms to help the industry.

Abela revealed that an investment will be going into the breakwater of Delimara as well as creating compensation for retired fishermen amongst other proposals. He also wanted to emphasise paving the way for younger fishermen taking up the craft and providing them with the necessary tools and skills to keep the tradition alive.

5 year anniversary of the collapse of the famous Azure Window

5 year anniversary of the collapse of the famous Azure Window

The Azure Window in Gozo, a popular tourist site as well as a natural icon worthy of the international filming industry, collapsed five years ago today.

The Gozitan landmark, which connected the main land to a large standing rock protruding out of the sea and thus creating a window like gap beneath a rocky bridge, collapsed on the 8th of March 2017.

Weathering strong winds and storms for years, the rock formation made up of Globigerina Limestone and Lower Coralline Limestone, finally gave way to the battering. The collapse still kept the natural beauty of the area however, as tourists still continue to visit the coastline to this day.

The Azure Window even featured in some big titles from International film industries – some of which include the likes of Game of Thrones as well as the Count of Monte Cristo.

The beauty has also arguably transitioned to an underwater paradise as many who love diving still take to the area to explore the caverns and local aquatic fauna and flora. The Azure Window still offers a glimpse into some of Malta’s most fascinating natural gifts.
