More than 90,000 flu vaccines administered

Over the past week, the flu vaccine has been given to over 90,000 people across Malta and Gozo. The Department of Health has ordered more than 250,000, of which 100,000 have already arrived.

From tomorrow, the vaccines will be available at Malta’s health centres. The second batch is scheduled to arrive in November, where they will be readily available at health centres and polyclinics.

Italian PM announces further measures to control the spread of COVID-19

Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte has announced a number of measures which include bars and restaurants showing their maximum occupancy, while bars will have to close at 6PM unless they begin to offer table service.

Amongst other measures, all amateur sports have been banned, arrivals at schools have been spread to increase social distancing and all local festivals have also been banned.

So far, Italy has registered more than 414,000 COVID-19 cases, 36,453 of which being deaths.

WHO REGIONAL DIRECTOR PRAISES MALTA’S COVID-19 MEASURES

The World Health Organisation’s Regional Director, Hans Kluge, has praised Malta for its new measures against COVID-19. In a Tweet posted last Sunday, Kluge showed his support for the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister for “stepping up the needed preventive measures”.

On Friday, the Government announced that all bars, clubs and catering establishments should be closing their doors by 11pm, while also making mask-wearing mandatory in all public places. This means that one can only take off their masks if they are in their own private home, vehicle or in an area on their own.

Ashley Tisdale is having a girl

Former ‘High School Musical’ and ‘The Suite Life of Zack & Cody’ star, Ashley Tisdale, has shared with her followers on Friday that she’s expecting a baby girl.


Last month the 35-year-old actress had revealed she was pregnant by sharing photos of her baby bump.


Tisdale and her husband Christopher French found out the sex of their baby by slicing into a cake.
