A BCRS Malta spokesman revealed that 90 per cent of their 320 machines have been fully functional in the face of massive demand and the company believes that the response will continue to increase.

Prior to starting the scheme, Malta was one of the worst-recycling countries in Europe, with 10% of all plastic packaging being recycled, which is well below the EU average of 38%.
