More sausages with nails found between Naxxar and Mosta

More sausages with nails found between Naxxar and Mosta
Sep 29 2021 Share

A new batch of sausages embedded with nails has popped up in the vicinity of ‘Tal-Wey’ fields. The issue was raised by residents of Mosta after the animal hazard surfaced between Mosta and Naxxar. The intention behind the barbaric act seems to kill and/or injure dogs and other animals frequenting the fields. The case was highlighted on a Facebook group called ‘Rubs Puppy Love.’

The warning was met with much concern and disbelief by dog owners as this comes just weeks after a similar batch was found around Gharb and San Lawrenz in Gozo. Many tagged owners in the post to warn them of the hazard, with others exclaiming how dangerous it has become to own a dog and go for a walk without endangering the pet’s life.  Others rightfully asked how people could come up with such wicked ideas.

People are playing the games in Squid Game for real…minus the dying

People are playing the games in Squid Game for real…minus the dying

Fans of the currently crazy popular Netflix show Squid Game are playing the game ‘Red Light, Green Light’ in real life. It is becoming somewhat of a TikTok trend, as players approach a large animatronic doll seen in the show, stopping whenever the doll turns towards them, with the eerie music playing over the top. The game is played in the first episode by the characters, but those who lose end up getting killed… something real life players aren’t thankfully doing.

It is a game similar to ‘What’s the Time, Mr Wolf?’ or ‘Musical Statues’, with anyone who continues to move when ‘red light’ is called being eliminated from the game. TikTokers are posting videos of themselves playing the game, captioning it ‘Those who have watched it will understand’. Squid Game is on its way to become Netflix’s most watched show of all time, with a 100% rating from Rotten Tomatoes. The gory and psychological horror series has captured the attention of Netflix viewers everywhere, giving a fresh idea and spinning it into a thrilling drama.

Back to school amidst teacher posting chaos?

Back to school amidst teacher posting chaos?
Sep 29 2021 Share

As students in state schools return to their desks for the 2021/22 scholastic year, chaos rules as a last-minute decision to fill in teacher shortage with peripatetic educators raises concerns. Thousands of children in primary remain in limbo as to whether or not they will receive the adequate education they deserve, as a shortage of 80 teachers in state primary schools was addressed by the Education Ministry over the weekend by assigning peripatetic teachers.

Such teachers usually commute between different schools and teach subjects ranging from PE to science to music to art. The teachers were expected to hand in schemes of work for their assigned students, which include Mathematics, English and Maltese in just a matter of days. The decision has raised dispute within the industry, with even the Teacher’s Union stating that they were not informed about such a situation.

This led to the Education Ministry filing a court of injunction against the Malta Union of Teachers and the Union of Professional Educators to stop any industrial action after the unions issued directives to these peripatetic teachers in question. The shortage has been largely caused by COVID-19 protocols which limit a 1.5m distance between student desks, resulting in split classrooms.

Watch: Messi scores first PSG goal as they beat Manchester City

Sep 29 2021 Share

Yesterday, Messi finally scored his long awaited first PSG goal. The goal was spectacular and was what everyone was expecting from the Argentinian magician. The Parisians beat their English opponents quite convincingly, winning 2-0. This is PSG’s first win in the Champions League after a disappointing draw against Club Brugge in the first matchday.

The first goal of the game didn’t take long to come as Idrissa Gana Gueye rocketed a loose ball into the back of the net in the 8th minute. This woke up the Cityzens, and made them more attacking but they weren’t clinical enough and couldn’t find the net, even failing a chance that was easier to score. The first half ended with Manchester City looking for the equalizer and PSG looking to control the game.

The second half started how the first ended, with Manchester City pushing for an equalizer but PSG still managing to control the game. The Cityzens continued to attack but couldn’t find the net, whilst PSG looking to close the game did exactly that in the 74th minute with a Leo Messi wonder goal. The goal pretty much ended the game and disheartened the City players.
