The candle installation took place yesterday on Sunday 30th October from 1800pm.

The installations saw all Gozitan locality parish churches honouring their Patron Saints through magnificent candle designs. Each had their own unique take on the religious patronage’s honouring.

Throughout the evening, Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri highlighted all the different installations across the island to share with the public a slice of Maltese communities’ traditions.

Farrugia has just joined Wasserman Music Agency, one of the world’s biggest entertainment industry players. They boast other big names such as Sean Paul and Sean Mendes.

And Shaun’s name will be listed right next to theirs as he gears up for the launch of his solo career with Polydor, which also lasts names like Lady Gaga and Selena Gomez.

This came after the Maltese song-writer’s world famous collaborations with DJ Martin Garrix, who worked with and pushed Shaun’s voice into massive events all around the globe.

This new deal signing is a gigantic step in and of itself, but it will serve as a stepping stone towards even more achievements and possible collaborations for the Maltese artist.

Francesca Curmi first Maltese to rank in Women Tennis Association Top 500

Francesca Curmi has just made history as she became the first Maltese to break into the Women Tennis Association Top Pro 500 weekly ratings.

The 20-year-old tennis starlet ranked in 490th place, situating her amongst the most superb tennis players the world has to offer in the under-21 category.

However, this is not the first stellar achievement for Curmi as she placed in the top 100 in the pro-players aged under 21. This comes as Curmi continues a superb 2022 season.

Earlier this June, she once again made history by becoming the first Maltese tennis player to win the high level ITFF 23A in Monastir, Tunisia. There she beat China’s X.X. Yao 6-2 and 6-4 in the ITF Final.

Petition for voucher scheme for people with food intolerances

Petition for voucher scheme for people with food intolerances
Oct 30 2022 Share

A petition kickstarted by Sarah Micallef Muscat is calling on the government to introduce a voucher scheme to help people with food intolerances to help them deal with sky-high food prices.

Micallef Muscat stated that people with food intolerances should be able to benefit from a similar theme as coeliac patients, who are entitled to monthly food vouches of around €45 and €50.

The petition states that this isn’t comparing coeliac disease with food intolerance. It is merely pointing out that both are facing similar issues when it comes to food product buying.

‘I would like to petition the government to change its policies regarding Food Intolerance. We are currently not eligible for government food vouchers, even though some of us seek the same alternatives as people with Coeliac disease.’

‘I am petitioning that food intolerances should be added to the government’s list of qualifying conditions for food vouchers, due to how similar they are to coeliac disease.’

As of the writing of this article, 115 people out of the target 200 have signed the petition. You can support the cause by signing here.
